End of Year Celebrations
It has been a long-standing tradition at Stanley to celebrate the end of the school year with fun events for each grade. To continue these events this year, we need family contributions. Planning for these events will begin in the fall based on the budgets established by your contributions.
These events are offered to all students regardless of ability to pay, including those who qualify for the Free and Reduced Meal program. That said, if enough money isn’t raised to cover these costs, the school administration and PTA will need to adjust plans accordingly.
In recent years, the sixth and seventh graders enjoyed an on-campus picnic during the last Friday of school. The main blacktop area was transformed into a carnival atmosphere featuring food, music, games and entertainment. The requested contribution this year is $40 per student.
Meanwhile, the eighth graders enjoyed two events. First up was an off-campus trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo the same day as the 6th and 7th grade carnival. The eighth-grader’s ticket included round-trip chartered bus transportation, park admission, lunch and chaperones to ensure a safe and fun outing. The requested contribution this year is $130 per student.
Also, 8th graders participate in a promotion party immediately following a ceremony. The party is for 8th graders only and features food, games, a DJ, photo booth, prizes and more. The requested contribution this year is $50 per student.
Again, to offer these activities we rely on the contributions of our families. We ask, to the extent you are able, to donate as soon as possible.
Purchasing a ticket to these events helps the PTA cover the large costs of these well deserved celebrations. We hope that all 8th grade students attend the end of year celebrations, regardless of ability to pay.
